Heatwave

I expect many blips today will be recounting the extraordinary temperatures seen today.  Over 40 degrees at Heathrow being the latest UK record broken as I type this. 

It felt very warm outside at 7am this morning when I photographed this beautiful poppy in our garden.  Sadly, it has gone over already so I'm glad I captured it when it looked its best.

M and I are treating ourselves to a glass of champagne and a shellfish salad for dinner tonight.  We would normally eat in the summerhouse this time of the year but it's way too hot.  So, it'll have to be indoors with the blinds closed to keep out the heat.  It'll still be delicious though.

I'm looking forward to some cooler temperatures tomorrow
