Float on the Moat

I went for another early walk around the village this morning, I was glad to get out after a very hot and sticky night.  While I was there I saw this moorhen family on their own raft floating on the castle moat. 

I had an appointment at the Orthopaedic Hospital this afternoon but a few hours before my appointment they phoned up to postpone it. It meant that I could stay in the relatively cool house instead of going out in the heat which is even higher than yesterday.  The forecast is for cooler weather tomorrow - I hope that they're right.
