Rescued

I'm a big fan of spiders*  & I know they have to eat too, but as I've seen so few butterflies this year I decided to save this one from the mass of webs it was entangled in in the garage. Set free in the garden, hopefully happy.

Our corner of Cumbria peaked at 32 deg C in the shade today. I got another raised bed replaced whilst it was cooler this morning.

For a while the hut, with all the curtains drawn was a cool oasis - but eventually the black metal roof worked it's charms and when the Mercury hit 38 and continued to climb I decided to give up for the day.

*I no longer say arachnids as ticks are arachnids and yuck.
