Emmeline

A record breaking day for heat today (not a record to be proud of, we are trashing the planet).

Temperatures got up to 39, but humidity was very low, so the dry heat was sort of tolerable. Then the wind got up, temperatures dropped by 10 degrees and humidity went up and it became a great deal less tolerable and much harder to bear.

I had planned on spending most of the day in either Apparatus Rooms or Radio Studios, both air conditioned and places where I had work to do. Having had some success, I went back to my desk to discover that my team had been missed off of an email notifying us of a Change Freeze due to the hot weather, so I shouldn't have done the work at all. Oops!

After dinner I had a shorter walk, it was too humid, and passed this statue of local hero Emmeline Pankhurst.
