The gamers settled into two tables today. The others started with Anachrony, known for its complexity and length. We settled down to Tawantinsuyu - 60-120 minutes according to the box.
It's a recent addition to the (vaguely) Incan-themed games that begin with 'T' (a whim of the original designer but something that's taken on a life of its own - a bit like Frankenstein...). We'd played the first of the set, Tzolk'in, yesterday.
This turned out to be a very, very fiddly abstract game with a nigh invisible veneer of theme.
Anachrony, on the other table came and went.
As did Brass: Birmingham - another game of substantial length.
We eventually finished. I mean, it wasn't a bad game, and that it didn't feel like five hours is actually a good sign that it kept us engaged, but life's going to be too short to consider it again.
