We may not have been the hottest part of the country, but we still exceeded the previous record for England.  This was the temperature in the shade at 4pm, and the temperature was starting to drop at that point.

Understandably we didn't do a lot today.  I did put some washing out to dry while preparing lunch.  It was already dry by the time we came to eat.

A few spots of moisture dropped from the sky this evening, but not the downpour which the garden needs.  We'll see what happens overnight.
