An Offer You Can't Refuse
Drove 900 miles this weekend, and in a number of service stations along the route they were selling scarecrows. At the bargain price of £9.99.
Now assuming you're in the market for a scarecrow, and let's face it, no garden is complete without one, are you likely to
a) go to a garden centre
b) try scarecrows.com (I made that up, but it probably does exist)
c) go to a motorway service station?
The woman behind the counter told me that they're very popular. But also that she doesn't like having them because they make her nervous. It's the eyes - they follow you around.
