Portobello Beach Edinburgh Day 240
Best blip it while you can - there was a golden cloudless dawn at 0500 leading to this sunny view by the time I was running on the sands. The clouds were building rapidly and rain is due here at noon. The wind was strong from the west and made westerly running quite strenuous. On the way back it was much easer and in the lee of the buildings it was warm enough to be sitting out on the sea wall. One artist was capturing the scene ensconsed on the sands surrounded by her water colours. Pre-school aged children, with buckets and spades were playing in the sand while their older siblings were beavering away in Tower Primary School. Its Victorian classroom windows must have stunning sea views but I guess the children would need to be about 8 foot tall to see out of them!
