From an upstairs window

This tree, photogenic particularly in winter, is a Chinese elm. Its roots are pavement lifters and the council won't let the owners remove it. Even if it did, the cost would require remortgaging the house. I'm all for trees and value them as habitats for birds, bats and possums but some plantings are inappropriate for an environment of narrow streets and footpaths to match.

Note the rainbow lorikeets in the upper right hand section of the tree, and on the wire in the extra.

Thanks for hosting Bob.
