Waspish

Martin and I recently became aware of a lot of wasps on our utility room roof  which we can see from the bedroom window.  We suspected a nest and I confirmed it by getting out the ladder and looking up in the space .

Lots of spiders, and lots of wasps.  

But how amazing is this structure (about the size of a football)?  

Am wondering what to do about it - the internet suggests they will leave in the autumn and not come back.  We don't have kids here to worry about, they have not bothered us so far, and apparently they do good in the garden.
