Perennial sweet peas

I planted these last year on either side of a garden arch and they grew well. As instructed I chopped them off at ground level at the end of the season and wondered if they would grow this year.
I didn’t need to worry - they are now 7 to 8 feet tall ! 
Although they don’t have the fragrance of other sweet peas they do look attractive and the bees like them too.
