Green Alkanet

Well so much for spending the whole day in the garden. When I got up early to make a start I discovered there had been some heavy rain during the night and it was still raining. I worked indoors until 1100 hours and by then the sun had come out and the ground was a little dryer. I spent an hour and a half planting the plants I bought yesterday as well as some others which had arrived, before it rained again, making everything rather too wet to work in.

This is Green Alkanet with raindrops, although why it is called that, when the flowers are blue I do not know; it grows in our wildlife garden and in the flower borders too.
