Blackthorn Spring
This is the view from the end of my garden onto the heath. Today, not only are there fluffy white clouds in the sky, there is also masses of white blossom from the blackthorn trees which will, later in the year, produce a good harvest of sloes.
Folklore says that the arrival of the blackthorn blossom heralds a cold snap, as if we haven't had enough of them already this year. Lo and behold, temperatures are 10 degrees lower than yesterday! Who needs the weatherman?!
