Wellington’s weather proved wilder than usual and by midday all flight in and out of the city were cancelled, along with the Cook Strait ferries between the North and South Islands. Rough water with 10 metre waves and wind gusts over 100kph were beyond safety levels for sea and sky.
So…..
We brought the family home with us for a bonus extra night - tomorrow the weather is expected to be much calmer and the planes will return to the skies!
