Barcelona Marina
A couple of walks in the barrio in the morning and Aptis marking.
In the late afternoon, we went to the tanatorio/funeral parlour to give our condolences and show respect to our friend Josep, who had just lost his elderly mother.
We were quite near the beach and marina and so wandered down there, walking through what was the Olympic Village for the Barcelona Olympic Games in 1992, now a well-established residential area. Can't quite believe that The Games were 30 years ago and our second year living here! It was a trip down memory lane for Bb, who worked in the Olympic Village during that summer as deputy head of the car pool. His job was to ensure that the drivers allocated to each country had their car ready on time to take the athletes to the stadium or other sporting venue. The system which was in place when he started was 'chaos' and he had to redo it all! I remember he used to love the early morning starts, when he could sit out and see the sunrise before the day started.
We walked along the front of the Olympic Village part of the beach, past the marina and stopped for a drink in one of the beach places there. That, together with the walks I did this morning, my step count was 18,000. Sometimes I struggle to get to 10 and other days it builds up easily.
