Boy at work
Luca, getting to grips with some design choices with the Brio building kit. His hair really needs a trim... sometimes he'll let me do it, if it's part of an imaginary game about a trip to the hairdresser. Not today though.
We had a shorter day together than usual. Josh and Ruth had booked to go to the Land Skills Fair near Cirencester, an annual event organised by the Land Workers' Alliance.
They had planned to leave together on Thursday. However, this would have meant Eben missing the last day of school term which he really didn't want to do (good for him - for now at least, he likes to feel he's joining in with the full cycle of school events, and there were some special things lined up for the last day). So a compromise was worked out... Ruth going to the Fair by train on Thursday, and Josh driving the boys there after school on Friday. Not an easy proposition, given Friday traffic. So as I write this, I'm hoping that they're having an OK time with the journey. Once there, I think they'll have a ball - there are plenty of family-friendly activities, as well as interesting workshops for adults on climate emergency themes as well as practical sessions.
