Mrs Grebe

Sitting on her eggs. Sadly she seems to have lost one. She had 4 a week ago but they're down to 3 now. It may have been a predator but I don't think so. If it had been a mink or otter they would have been back for the others and they are too big for any invading birds. My guess is it rolled off into the water which has had a couple of choppy moments. As you can see grebes aren't great nest builders so an egg could roll off quite easily. Mr Grebe is still adding to the nest.
