Sharing the duties
Papa blackbird was rarely at the nest when there were only eggs. His role was security service and backup. But now he can be seen regularly, with a beak full of worms, or cleaning the nest.
The hatchlings are getting more mobile. We hope they have learned to fly before they fall out of the nest. It's like little children, testing the borders/limits.
The extra shows it better: the eyes are open, and they are not so pink anymore, but more greyish.
The two additional eggs are still there. Breeding-duration is usually approximately two weeks. The 4th egg was laid on 5th July, plus 14 days is 19th. Plus up to 4 additional days would be 23rd July. So it is still possible.
