It's Flower Friday!

Featuring today are some of the beautiful flowers that our friends brought for me yesterday.  Some are shop bought, but some are home grown by S herself, which has impressed me tremendously!  It was difficult to photograph everything in the bouquet in one shot so I'm just showing three of the dahlias.
After breakfast this morning we were rather shocked to see a rather large lorry outside the house opposite, with digging equipment onboard plus some very ominous looking telegraph poles. As our BT cables are underground, we were mystified until we were informed by the BT Openreach workmen that the poles are for faster fibreoptic broadband.  Poles were chosen because it is so much cheaper than digging underground and no, they neither have to seek permission from anyone about the works nor even inform us that they will be taking place!  Who knew!
