50 years ago

It was 50 years ago when the fleet of 5 paddler steamers were supposed to be replaced by more modern boats based on cost-efficieny-speed considerations.

However villagers around the lake opposed and collected money to renovate them. So 50 years later they are all still operating and the magnet for tourist. No one wants to sail fast or as cheap as possible.

It is a unique experience.
