Citrus Swallowtail
Another busy day today. I spent the morning at the Butterfly House and we have our first butterflies in flight! It was lovely to see this Citrus Swallowtail pop out of its pupae and then after a couple of hours drying off, take flight. Unfortunately, I only had my mobile phone and this particular butterfly decided that it wanted to sit on the floor for ages. We have so many lovely plants and piles of fruit for it to feed on, but no, it had to sit on the floor the whole time.
7 days now until opening, and unless somebody lets me know that they are going in on Monday morning, I’ll have to wait until next Saturday until I can take the proper camera in.
In the afternoon, I spent a few hours harvesting salad items - tomatoes, onions, radish and little gem, and then pricking out the biennial seedlings and planting out the last of the annuals. We will soon have mini peppers which I’m quite excited about as we just got the seeds from a packet of mixed peppers from Tesco :)
I’ve also posted yesterdays blip as I totally forgot about it in the evening.
