A Trip down Memory Lane for my Dad
This weekend marks the 13th anniversary of when my Mum died so we had a trip with my Dad to one of their favourite haunts, Belsay Hall and Castle about 12 miles from Newcastle. Many times after they retired they used to go there and enjoy the walk through the gardens and quarry to the castle, and sit on the very bench shown in the photo to admire the view. Towards the end of my Mum's life she couldn't walk far and my Dad used to push her along in this same wheelchair which we now use for him.
The residential part of the castle, in front of which my Dad is sitting, has the inscription, "Thomas Middleton and Dorathy his wife builded this house Anno 1614".
