Wasps nest

I'm doing a long overdue massive clean out of our main room following the installation of two new windows, and kept found loads of beautifully constructed mud dauber wasps nests .. all over the place in dark corners... in hats, cupboards, bookcases, pots, etc. Amazing pottery-like constructions with multiple chambers, generally packed full of dead spiders. .. food for the grubs that would develop inside! The one in the photo had been attached to the pages of a book squahed against the back of the book case but broke off when I took the book out. This one was clearly an old one and the wasps had hatched.. about 15 of them I think from counting the holes. All the chambers were empty. I thought there had been a lot of wasps around... but you do expect that in the country this time of year! Definitely room for more frequent cleaning!!
