Wedding flowers

In March as a thank you for allowing us to use their driveway for a few weeks, I offered to our neighbours to plant up the (bare wood hip) border. The youngest was using the house as a base for his wedding and some colour was desired. I went also for scent and over the weeks since retiring from the USA I have been willing on the plants.

The sweet pea and nicotinia have done well. The cosmos is just starting to come out as have other plants. The cool and very hot days over the past month or so have challenged.

At the end of the day all looked (and smelled) good.

The weather today was overcast but mild with the occasional spot of rain. It should not have spoiled their celebrations. Not the heat and sunshine we experienced this day last year at our daughter’s wedding in Lancaster. At least we will remember the newly weds’ anniversary!
