A grand day out

on the Grand Union Canal.  We took the little cat back home today and spent the day cruising north on the GU Canal.  It was perfect weather.. not too sunny but warm with enough wind to stop the midges who appeared when the wind stopped.  Our daughter is trying to get to a wedding party by Friday evening at 6 so the pressure was on to get moving.. we managed a trip with 11 locks and much appreciation for the lovely canal trust volunteer who helped us speed through the long series of locks.  They were trying to get some water down the canal system too so were only too happy to assist with the gates.
We left our car ready at the end of our section and our daughter carried on a while.. infact she did another 6 locks making it a record day of 17 locks!!  Phew!
