Cheeng
Its been a long week and I haven't thought what I'm going to say yet. (Upload continues to be so slow that I type the words during upload elsewhere then copy and paste)
We were in Cheeng -that is how you say it- on Skye today though written down looks more like Teangue. Elsewhere in Scotland we have a hill called Meall na Teangue, hill of the tongue -you've guessed- pronounced Chen-gah. When in Skye...
Even Gaelic has regional variations in dialect.
As part of our mission impossible today I had to go up to this hill loch and take a few basic level measurements around this structure. I enjoyed the tramp there and back and the wee while at the location. Well out of reach of this fixed, wide angle lens I spotted a huge bird of prey at about 900 metres distance. It wasn't a buzzard (or a tourist Golden Eagle as they are sometimes referred to) it was much bigger and bizarrely it looked like a small herd of red deer were running away from its threatening soaring presence below it. It was either a golden eagle or a white tailed (sea) eagle, the latter being the biggest birds of this type on these shores.
Its quite nice to reflect that at that instant you are the only person there witnessing the show.
Wine time I think; have a good week end.
