Rejoicing In Memories Of Lynn

Things you don't expect at a funeral service include a recording of the song "I'll Never Find Another You" by The Seekers, a story about "church shoes" that touched our hearts and the whole congregation singing "Edelweiss" at the end that gave me a "Sound of Music" moment.  But we experienced those things and more as we laughed and cried because many of her children and grandchildren gave personal testimonies or had their memories read by someone else.  Bro. Steve officiated the
service and spoke about her as a true Proverbs 31 woman, who loved her God, her family, her church and her country and served each of those loves faithfully and diligently for as long as she was able.  The "church shoes" story came from the daughter who inherited them when her mom  could no longer wear them( I managed to get the shoes into the collage next to that daughter).  I had the privilege of meeting and greeting Lynn on several occasions because she and her husband of over 60 years had one son among their five daughters and he has been my choir director and friend since 1998 and also directed one of the handbell groups I was in and still lets me hang out and sing with the mixed ensemble, Jubilate.  They came to every special performance he gave that they could get to.  So, today was a day of mixed emotions, but we do not mourn as those who have no hope, because we know that she is in a better place and that we will see her when we catch up with her!
