Okay, it's a cliche.  But it would have been rude not to stop.

Early start.  Breakfast in Spean Bridge, and then a gorgeous drive up through Glen Shiel to Kyle of Lochalsh and through Skye.  Blue skies over Skye - a total rarity (in my limited experience). 

Then a windy ferry trip over to North Uist, accompanied by a very stressed dog (she is not a fan of ferries).
