I gently chased this Red Admiral all over the garden waiting to get a photo. Every time it stopped anywhere it flew straight off again. At one point it even settled on my camera! After about 20 minutes I thought I’d look for something else - and then it settled on a fern frond and opened its wings out to catch the sun and stayed there whilst I took a load of photos.
A nice gentle day - apart from watering the tomatoes we started to trim the big clematis that grows around the French doors. Then Kathy and Jim dropped by - they’d been to the farmers’ market at Market Bosworth and bought some nice treats for Nelly and Ziggy.
