Ready for Anything

I certainly wasn't raining this morning and the mist was beginning to clear, but you never know when a ray of sun might burst through. perhaps those lethal looking umbrellas could also be used to fend off marauding beasts or angry birds....

We all stuck to our routines for most of the day...John puttered in the garden, I puttered in the sewing room and Spike slept on the couch. Our only diversion was to watch the peloton charge down the Champs Elysee behind the sprinters in hopes of a spot on the podium under the Arc de Triomphe. Another July almost gone....

The results of the cucumber experiment can be seen in the extra. The  vines aren't looking very robust and they certainly aren't covering the fence, but they are producing lots of cucumbers which is, in fact, their primary function....
