Gunnar Sonsteby

I’m in Norway up on the Hardangervidda, a mountainous plateau well above the tree line. We have a cabin by the lake (40 kilometers long) and not a soul to be seen. Today we drove down to Rjukan for supplies. Those familiar with the Second World War film “The heroes of Telemark” will know it for the factory that produced heavy water, A group of saboteurs managed to blow it up and Gunnar Sonsteby was one of them. Brave men indeed.
