Fortuitous
A lovely catch up and coffee with friend M who talked me through the process of self-publishing her book, another step closer, lots learned.
I almost didn't go over to Millom today, attendance can be hit and miss, and there's some silly politics happening. With my two most regular participants both having messaged me to say they couldn't make this week my mojo was low.
But.
Providence. Et al.
Arriving at Safe Space the head of social prescribing for Copeland and her counterpart for Allerdale had come down to meet me. We've tried to set this up so often I'd pretty much given up*.
A super productive chat and.. Wellness Walks are now officially listed on the NHS social prescribing portal, a huge step forward for us and the sort of validation that's really helpful with funding applications.
The weather however was vile... So no walk takers. I think the NHS ladies really appreciated and understood my "it's being here and offering that matters most " approach, it's a little different to the usual "you've got six sessions and that's it".
Missy adores Safe Space as she gets fussed lots. But I still felt guilty she hadn't gotten a walk and a hoon about - so seeing the sun appear as we drove home we had a slight detour to her favourite spot. Clegs however persuaded me not to join her in the water this time :-(
*not at all their fault. Good people drowning in a not-fit-for-purpose system
