Invaders

Earlier in the year the nesting box hosted a family of sparrows; now it has been taken over by wasps.  I have noticed that wasps sometimes occupy a nest site for two or more successive years, other nests seem to be only for one year.  I wonder what about next spring; will wasps vacate it in time to clean it out for the birds?
