Below the Helm

A friend bought a field 10 years ago and asked another friend and I for advice on how to restore it to a hay meadow and increase its ecological interest. Today we saw it again and it looked splendid, with an orchard on the upper slope, woodland trees and a hedge along one side, and a large area of flower-rich meadow.  Still plenty of opportunities to improve it further, but it's proved an interesting journey so far.
