Mother Mallard

It was fascinating to watch this mallard duck mothering her babies. She was preening her feathers but at the same time providing shade and cooling breezes by slowly fluttering her wings. The babies eventually shifted out of the hot sun to be completely under her, while she also kept a sharp eye on her other two babies merrily swimming nearby, see extra.
