Life with a blue crutch…

And what a great day today was.
My friend picked me up and we set off to buy some hedge veg.
First stop was the cash point at Waitrose for me to get some money. Then we set off looking for peppers and courgettes. Slightly false start since we meant to run right out of Waitrose but went left instead. That took us on a slight detour past my old childhood house and I was interested to see that during recent renovations one of the windows had been bricked over. Soon we were at the hedge veg stall in the collage and a pack of 4 peppers was bought for £1. Then we headed towards the north of the island then turned towards the west. Halfway along the coast we turned back towards a garden centre for a bacon sarnie. But no go. Bacon sarnie were for breakfast and at 12.02 it was lunchtime. So we carried on to Pembroke (the beach in the collage). Their bacon sarnies were HUGE and came with chips so we opted for Guernsey Gâche instead.
We eventually set off again looking for the courgettes and drove about three quarters of the way around the island without finding any. But we stopped for a milkshake. If it hadn’t been for a road closed we would have been back on the west coast where we were at midday!
We never did find these elusive courgettes though.
