It's been a very long day...
We went to Taunton today (a round trip of 100+ miles) for Cliff’s triple appointment at the tinnitus clinic - which turned out to be just a consultation. A good, long and helpful consultation, but nevertheless just a consultation. And Bath hadn’t sent the hearing test results on to them.
He has to go back again for the MRI scan (which we were assured would be done as part of the triple appointment) just to rule out the extremely faint possibility of there being a non-malignant growth at the back of his nose because it’s unusual to have tinnitus only on one side. The specialist agreed that it’s probably because when Cliff spent 35 years working at a printing firm where the machine noise was coming from one side. So the scan is purely being really cautious..
Then in the evening, it was up to the bowls club for a County knockout competition, probably the most important match of the season for our club. This photo shows the pre-match scene. Our club played really well but lost the match by a whisker. By the time the numbers had been crunched & debated (there was a slight misunderstanding about the recording of an 'extra end', played in the event of a tie but wasn't actually needed), the speeches were made and the supper was eaten & cleared away, it was nearly 10:30 and I was ready for bed!
