Discovery

Spent all morning and most of this evening working on Tiny Clanger. She herself is almost finished, but I still have to cut out, embroider and sew on her complicated felt outfit. So when Mr PP said he was popping into town this afternoon, I decided to join him for a break and a breath of fresh air. Glad I went as we happened upon a plaque on this house which read:

"This house was the boyhood home of Arthur Stanley Eddington (1882-1944), one of the foremost scientists, not only of the twentieth century, but of the entire history of the human species. His achievements include, but are not limited to, the integration of modern astrophysics, major advances in the early history of relativistic cosmology, major additions to modern astronomical advancements, a superior exposition of the philosophy of physical science, and authorship of many books and articles making science more meaningful, not only to scientists, but to all rational and curious individuals. His achievements will radiate for the duration of the human species."

Never knew Eddington came from Weston-super-Mare. I wonder what he would have made of 2019 onwards. How rational is the human species these days...?
