Who’s a pretty cocky?

We spent most of the day at the Alice Springs Desert Park, one of my favourite botanic gardens. Although it’s more than a botanic garden, with wonderful bird aviaries, a nocturnal house displaying small desert animals and a flying bird show - which unlike some such shows treats the birds with respect rather than a source of amusement.

The photos are taken in a walk-through aviary. The main is a Red-tailed Black Cockatoo. The extra is a pair of Zebra Finches making more Zebra Finches.
