Family history

This is not a holiday read, but I have been trying to read this book for quite awhile and I know my concentration is best when there are no other diversions.
This book tells the true story of the Battle of Admin Box a strategic victory in WWII. My father was involved in this truly atrocious battle  (that lasted for 2 weeks) and I think it left him a changed man. He only told us the bare details, but suffered terrible nightmares probably suffered from PTSD.
 The book is dense with details and was a difficult read for many reasons but I finished it and can only wish I could have read it when my father was alive. The hardship they suffered was almost unbelievable.
