Full Bloom

I needed to do a quick and early blip today. My niece and her boyfriend are coming to stay for the weekend so there's lots to do.

This is a Primula Auricula, a beautiful spring flower. I have a pot of them just outside the window. I looked out yesterday and there they were in FULL bloom. I hadn't even noticed any signs of life at all, they completely sneaked up on me.

I did cheat a bit for the photograph. It's very windy today (and freezing cold again) so a macro shot outside would have been quite tricky. Nothing for it but to bring the whole pot inside and take the shot in the kitchen.
