Tube Travel

This is the sentence that, when heard, can only make you think of the London Tube System.
The words are blared out at various tube stations where the tube doesn't meet the platform edge and you need to take a big step to get into the carriage. Nothing for adults but can be scary for children as, at some stations e.g. Charring Cross, the 'gap' can be large enough for a 'tiny' to fall down through.
The person who announces the 'Mind the Gap' was an actor with excellent diction and the recording was made in the 70's. When he died, his widow would sit on the station and listen to his voice as each train came in.
In the 90's the recording was changed for a voice synthesiser but so many people missed hearing him and complained to London Transport that they remastered the old tape and reinstated him. So now his widow can, once again, hear her husband.
