Light at the End ….
… of the tunnel. Well you hope it was for the 5 people (extra) who died during the last two and a half years, who had worked at the American College of Leysin. The College had a memorial service for them today as there is a reunion of students from the college. It was very informal and very moving as old students stood up to remember their teachers. I worked there with three of them in 1982/1983 when I was going through the trauma of grief myself. Martine, bottom left, became a great friend, with her husband Larry. We climbed and skied together. Her pottery is still in everyday use in our home so I think of her often. Her sudden passing shocked the Leysin community to the core, she was so vibrant and so fit for her 74 years. Remembrance is so important for those left behind.
