Sails ~ backblip
On a windmill in Derbyshire. We’re staying with a very good friend of Mr HB’s whose house and gardens are as wonderful as I remembered and with fantastic views way across the Derwent valley. Inevitably there was model flying involved which is where I saw this lovely old windmill which has been restored somewhat, the owner is growing his own grains to mill, but unfortunately more problems have come to light so maybe his dream of having a working mill may be a bit further off than once thought. Good luck to him anyway.
The boys (grown men!) enjoyed their afternoon of flying models together with our host’s nephew and young son, who also has had an interest and a love of aviation from an early age.
It has been a beautiful day and G&Ts in the garden looking at the amazing views were an early evening pleasure, after which our host cooked a very tasty prawn and seafood linguini. Late to bed!!
My visit to the Consultant at the eye hospital early this morning revealed a Vitreous Detachment (the gel-like fluid that fills your eye and which has become detached). Luckily there was no harm done to the retina at the back of my eye and it may repair in time – hopefully, as it is very annoying.
