Gimme a Rote Lange

What I didn't quite understand about Freiburg: you have a local delicacy called the Rote Lange sausage (35cm red sausage). But they only sell it until lunchtime? I couldn't see or smell it after 2pm any time I was in Freiburg. :)  A German town that doesn't sell its speciality sausages at night? Ich verstehe nicht!! :)))
