On the journey home we stopped at Jedburgh Abbey for a break.  In common with many other places, entry into the abbey is restricted while high level masonry inspections are carried out but we were not concerned as we have been there several times. There is still plenty to see within the grounds including these plots with different herbs that would have been grown for culinary and medical purposes.
It has been a memorable few days during which not only did we see our younger daughter’s family but also friends from school and college days, many of whom we still keep in regular contact.  Now our social calendar is empty and I should be able to catch up on looking at blips.
