I spot an eye spot
I moved this Oak Eggar moth from inside the house to outside where it made like a leaf (extra).
The single 'eyespot' on each wing may act as a deflector, drawing a predatory bird's attention/attack away from the vital organs and confining damage to the wing edges thus increasing the insect's chances of survival.
