A Sad Day

A to-let sign has gone up over the Berber Shop in Loughborough. Aziz will be gone by mid-September after over 20 years in the town.

The landlord apparently asked him if he was sure he wanted to leave. Aziz was adamant. He wants to retire, although I'm not sure how his pension will devalue as time goes on. He says he's guaranteed payments but he hasn't taken inflation into account.

We shall miss him there. I don't doubt that he will catch up on some much needed sleep when he leaves, but then there's the rest of his life.

His jewelry stock will be shipped to the jewelry quarter in Birmingham where it will be smelted down to recover the silver.
