Eiger glacier water

After another rainy afternoon the glacial water in the rivers is a very milky colour. That’s the Eiger in the cloud behind.

We stopped off at Altdorf this morning for a wander around the old town and various painted buildings. Next stop was the campsite under the north face of the Eiger. We had a pleasant few hours in the sun waiting for our son and his friend to arrive. Just before they appeared, the rain started and it continued, on and off, for the rest of the day. They were very thankful not to have to put their tent up and share the van with us instead.

We went out for pizza to celebrate our son’s birthday then it was an early bedtime as they want to get up at 4am to continue on their Via Alpina hike.
