Heather & Flo

Today Heather and I took the dogs to explore Bernwood Forest - our first time there. It was hotter than expected and despite being a forest, the paths were unshaded and hot for the dogs. We had water with us, but the streams were dry and we were soon getting low and decided to call it a day, but not before a lovely picnic in a mossy knell. We walked part of a beautiful butterfly trail, enthusiastic lepidopterists pointed out rare specimens as they fluttered around us.

Later I watched the finale of Neighbours - a programme I haven’t watched since I was a student. It’s was incredibly cheesy, but one flashback scene gave me a sudden and unexpected flashback to my student days, more a feeling than a specific memory and I had a sudden yearning to be 19 again.
